Discuss the use of music in Catholic and Protestant worship practice, from the development of polyphony, through the music of J.S. Bach. In so doing, discuss the shift in responsibility for musical development from the Catholic Church to the Lutheran Church. During the middle Ages, the Catholic Church was the sole contributor to musical development. The rise or development of polyphony came about during the Renaissance period; the Council of Trent wanted polyphonic church music to be created and Palestrina composed the Popeâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Beethoven contributed one of the most significant musical developments through his fifth and ninth symphonies. He used a musical motive as the basic of his entire piece. (Beethoven described the motive as ââ¬Å"Fate knocks at the doorâ⬠.) Britain s Post War International Situation - 1404 Words
Britain s post-war international situation expressed as ââ¬Å"Britain has lost an Empire and has not yet found a role,â⬠by Dean Acheson. His arguments have seemed so accurate, explaining not only the ambiguity about Britain s role but the weakening in her international position. Though every country wants to be taken into consideration sincerely around the other countries, one country always takes the role of leadership. The leadership position was belonged to Britain for a long time ago, before the WWI , but today the United States assumes itself in the position. Moreover, the US is precise due to the fact that it has many leverages to use against the rest of the world and the others know that the actions of the US affect themselvesâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬Ëââ¬â¢ This empire had largely been granted independence by 1964, beginning with independence for India and Pakistan in 1947.ââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢ After that time decolonization started and Britain lost almost each colony, which brought together diminishing power and influence, subsequently it lost the leadership position in the world. After Britain lost its standing, it sought allies for itself and got a part of Europe and became the founder member of many international organizations such as The Security Council or The North Atlantic Treaty Organization(NATO). While Britainââ¬â¢s financial power had started to decline dramatically in war period, it did not want to lost its strategic policy making status in the world, especially in the middle east, so it intervened foreign policies of many countries before 1947. For instance, Britainââ¬â¢s military power was helping Greece against Turkey. However it had to withdraw in 1947 due to the financial troubles like the decrease in the balance of payments and the huge loans taken from US, then it was not possible to maintain the high military expenses in Greece. It is significant to highlight the withdrawal of Britain because it was the reas on for many subsequent events. It was one of the causes of the realization of the Truman Doctrine, which was also the starting point for the Cold War. 1947 and 1948 was a critical period for Britain owing to the fact that it lost India, Ceylon, Burma, Palestine and Greece (formally or informally),

Modern Teenagers free essay sample
I wonââ¬â¢t definitely specify the Modern teenagers as lazy, spoilt and irresponsible but I would certainly say that they are a bit of being all three. In todays society there are many pressures in the lives of teenagers. The problem with them is that they are young and youth is the spring of Life but because of the too much pressure and responsibility on them, they are looking for some opportunities to get their freedom. Our parentââ¬â¢s mentality is mostly like that of the old days, so they take the teenagers as unruly and ill-mannered. I would like to give reasons aligned with each of the accusation of the teenagers. It would be ruthless to remark the teenagers as lazy for I guess they do the most painstaking work, physically as well as mentally. Teenagers spend a lot of time studying and the tornado of school crashes through their lives causing tiredness and chaos. We will write a custom essay sample on Modern Teenagers or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page They participate in sports and also help with the housework. But in their busy life they want something for relaxation which the parents take as their laziness and this is because of the generation gap between the parents and the teenagers. The assertion that teenagers are spoilt is totally unfair and harsh. I do agree that some teenagers are a bit too advanced than they should be but that does not make them spoilt. People usually point them as spoilt because they like to go shopping, spend most time with friends than family, watch television and browse in the internet but they do this only to get some enjoyable moments from their busy stressful life but parents especially never try to understand that. Finally, teenagers are not irresponsible at all. Many teenagers do part-time jobs and even go to tuition. A lot of teenagers help with the household chores and prepare their own things and needs. Some teenagers even take care of their younger siblings in the absence of their parents. Obviously those are the indications of a responsible person. Then how come they are indicated as irresponsible? Teenagers are carefree souls and they tries to experience the world through all senses, so we should not hurt them by those offensive words as lazy, spoilt and irresponsible.
